Benign Canine
B9K9, pronounced "'benign canine" meaning "good dog", was established in 1999. Keryl Olson has been training dogs for over 11 years using positive dog training methods that allow the dog to do the problem solving. Therefore the basic training, and more importantly the changing of unwanted behaviors become ingrained, so to speak, leaving less need for life-time management. The primary goal of our dog training is learning, but having fun is a close second. This is because we feel strongly that learning takes place best while everyone is relaxed and enjoying the process.
Fun and Positive
B9K9 was founded on the belief that providing a positive and fun atmosphere is the key to learning and successful dog training. Keryl believes that a better-mannered dog is just the icing on the cake; the cake is an emotionally healthy dog who has a trusting, loving bond with his or her person. A dog is most emotionally balanced when they know what to expect and what's expected of them, and a calm, confident, consistent and benevolent human leader will help a dog achieve this balance.

About Us
Ms. Olson is a member of Association of Pet Dog Trainers and is a Certified Canine Good Citizen evaluator. She has a BA in Special Education with a concentration in Psychology, giving her a solid background in learning styles and behavior. One of her goals is to identify each person's learning style and determine the owner's level of comfort in the training process, so both the owner and the dog will benefit to full capacity.
